Larne Hockey Club is taking this season out of league competition to regroup and build its hockey squad.
Larne took this unusual step having lost a few of its young players weeks before the start of the season and it was considered unwise to put out a very young team with limited experience in Senior League hockey.
The Ulster Branch approved the clubs plan to continue its affiliation and this enables friendlies to be played with other Ulster clubs.
Larne plan to be back in league and cup competition next season with a promising group of young players who will benefit greatly from a determined coaching programme planned by club coach, Leslie King.
The club had approved a dual coaching programme for the year ahead.
The existing young members will be put through a coaching plan starting early November on a weekly basis. This will be a priority for the club to get these players ready for next season and develop new players coming into the club.
Boys from 15 years will be encouraged to join the club to benefit from coaching with a view to becoming a first team player next season.
Please go to the contact us page if you are interested in playing or would like to play Larne in a friendly.
